What's in it?
Swiss Water Process decaffeination process without the use of added chemicals. 1/2 percent of Ampersand's revenue is donated to the International Women's Coffee Alliance.
The Cascadia decaf blend is a mix of select beans from Ethiopia, Honduras, Indonesia, Peru, and Timor. Swiss Water Process uses the elements of water, temperature and time to create some of the most intriguing decaf coffee.
First, they start with small batches of amazing coffee and green coffee extract. Then they add local water and a dash of loving attention by monitoring time and temperature until the coffee is 99.9% caffeine free. Swiss Water Process is 100% chemical-free, unlike conventional decaffeination methods. Most health benefits derived from coffee come from the antioxidants effect of the polyphenols contained within the coffee, regardless of whether there is caffeine in it or not, so that is not lost in this process. Coffee decaffeinated with Swiss Water Process is 99.9 percent caffeine free, which is a higher rate than that conventional decaf.
