Our Organic Black Bean Soup is made with non-GMO beans from Idaho. Like all legumes, beans are invaluable to anyone looking to eat less meat, because they’re a great source of plant-based protein.
Beans have planetary benefits too: They make their own fertilizer by “fixing” atmospheric nitrogen and releasing it into the soil, eliminating the need for chemical fertilizers.
To prepare the soup: Stir contents of package into 2¼ cups boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, covered. To save fuel on the trail, boil soup 1 minute, remove from heat, cover and let sit 9 minutes.
